If you are not happy with something you have bought from us, then we are not happy. That's why we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all our courses, gift certificates and photos, including downloads. This guarantee is in addition to your normal rights as a consumer.
In addition, in December we extend the refund available on unused gift certificates through to the end of January, to give you peace of mind when choosing a gift certificate.
Our guarantee on gift certificates purchased from Take Better Photos
Not sure which gift certificate to get? We want to make it easy for you. Up to 30 days after you buy a gift certificate, you're welcome to return it for a full refund of the purchase price, or exchange it for a another gift certificate of greater or lesser value, and we'll refund or charge any difference in price, as long as certificate hasn't already been redeemend or used for a booking. In December, we extend the refund period to the end of January. To get a refund, just write to us by email, fax, or normal letter, and include the following things: your name, address, phone number, and receipt number. Note that for security reasons, refunds can only be made to the person who purchased the gift certificate.
If you have booked on a course with a gift certificate and need to cancel the booking, you can do so at least 7 days before the date of the course with no penalty, and you're welcome to re-book on any other available course within the validity of the gift certificate. If you need to cancel your booking 7 or fewer days before the date of the course, you have the option to transfer the gift voucher to another person, or to pay 50% of the standard course fee to re-book on a future course. Note that you'll need to provide us with your receipt number (or other proof that you're the purchaser) to receive a refund. Unfortunately we can't offer any refund if you don't show up and don't let us know before the day of the course, and the certificate becomes void. This is because each booking prevents somebody else from coming. We offer last-minute places for free to a local charity, so any notice that you can give us regarding cancellations allows us to help a great cause – Mates4Mates, which helps wounded and ill service personnel.
Our guarantee on photos purchased from Take Better Photos
To claim a refund, write to us by email, fax or letter up to 30 days from when you receive the images, and include in the letter the following information: your name, address and phone number, when you purchased the photos, and what's wrong with them. Mail us back any printed photos, and delete all copies of downloaded files for which you are claiming a refund. Claiming a refund revokes your license to copy, print, modify and email images. We will refund your purchase in full, including reasonable cost of postage. If you paid by credit card, we will not charge you the credit card fees.
Files that you download from us are already corrected for colour and contrast on a computer and monitor that are calibrated and profiled to international standards using industry-standard hardware. In other words, they should look right!
If you have bought pictures from us as a download, and printed them on a home printer or at a lab and the prints don’t look right, please contact us and we can check the quality of the image that you downloaded.
What we can't guarantee on photos purchased from Take Better Photos
Printed photographs don't last forever. Wilhelm Imaging Research has the latest public research on how long different types of photos last before they fade or deteriorate, and the best ways to store and display them. We keep up-to-date with their findings, and try to use the longest-lasting materials available.
If you download photographs from us, please make sure you back them up. You can re-download them again at no cost while they are still available on the website, but most of the photos on our website are only available for a short period. This is both a security measure, and it also allows us to offer high-resolution (big) files.
Our guarantee on courses by Take Better Photos
We want you to be delighted with our courses. If you attend a course but you are still not clear on any aspect of the course, you are welcome to contact us and organise to repeat the same course at another time at no charge within 1 year of first attending the course.
Alternatively, if you attend a course but are not satisfied with what you have learned, you can get a 100% refund by requesting the refund in writing or verbally to any Take Better Photos staff member within 30 days of the course, plus filling out a feedback form letting us know what you think we should change to make you satisfied. We very much appreciate this feedback. Feedback forms are available at the course, or by request from Take Better Photos. This guarantee is in addition to your existing rights as a consumer.
If you have paid and need to cancel your booking, you can get a 100% refund if you cancel at least 7 days before the course. If you cancel later, but before the day of the course, you have the option to re-book on a different date for just 50% of the usual fee. Unfortunately, we may not be able to offer any refund if you don’t show up and don’t let us know before the day of the course. This is because each booking prevents somebody else from coming. If you need to change the date of your booking, you can do so at no charge up to 7 days before the date of your course, and choose instead any other available place on a different course. If you need to change the date of your course within 7 days of the start of the course, a re-booking fee of 50% of the course fee will apply.
